Understanding usage rights ensures transparency and protects both you and your investment. Please review the information below before booking:
What are usage rights?
Usage rights explain how and where you’re allowed to use your photos.
For example: social media, website, ads, billboards, packaging, etc.
What’s the difference between personal and commercial use?
Personal use = for you.
Think Instagram, holiday cards, personal website, announcements.
Commercial use = for business.
Think website marketing, product launches, ads, email campaigns, sales pages.
If the photo helps you make money, it’s for commercial use.
Are usage rights included in every session?
Basic usage rights are included in every session.
Commercial projects, paid ads, or large-scale campaigns may require extended usage. We’ll always outline this clearly in your contract so there are no surprises.
What does “paid advertising usage” mean?
This means using your photos in paid ads — like Instagram ads, Facebook ads, Google ads, or boosted posts.
Because these images are being used to directly generate revenue, paid advertising usage is licensed separately.
What’s the difference between 1-year and lifetime usage?
1-year usage means you can use the photos for one year from the shoot date. After that, the license can be renewed.
Lifetime usage means you can use the images forever for the agreed-upon purpose.
